Animal Abuse has been around for as long as we can remember. However, the number of cases reported and statistics of animals put in shelter through abuse programs have increased over the years. We have laws to protect the animals, but the key question is, are they really helping the animals? If so, how effective are they? These are some of the questions I have formulated to help answer my research.

• ·        Which domestic animal abuse laws need to be enforced more?
• ·        How many cases is there a year?
• ·        What if citizens who were listed as animal abusers were no longer allowed to own animals?
• ·        Should animal abusers go to jail, regardless of the amount of abuse the committed?
• ·        Why do people find it amusing to cause so much pain to helpless, innocent animals?
